Race Results from October 19, 2024 – RevoSlot GT2/GT1 and NSR F1 at Electric Dreams – Cunningham Wood Track…
Hi folks,
A really nice days racing at the Electric Dreams Cunningham Wood track with 24 of us showing up for RevoSlot GT2/GT1 and for NSR F1. NEXT Farrout Race is Nov 2nd at Jim’s in Claremont (Fly 1960’s and RevoSlot GT2/GT1- yes, again). Next ED event is the Halloween race next weekend!
First: thank you to Carlos, John and Marco for opening the place up to us.
Second: thanks to Walt and Tim H for doing the race directing all day, greatly appreciated.
Third: thanks to Walt and Tim F for preparing the NSR F1 and RevoSlot’s respectively.
Fourth: congratulations
- in RevoSlot GT to Walter, Eddie, Tim F for taking the Top 3 podium positions and to Chris Sukimoto, Bob, Mike M, Kevin, Marc, Frank and Tom for rounding out the Top 10
- in NSR F1 to Tim F (first class individual class win?) Walter and Mike, for taking the Top 3 podium positions with special mention to Carlos Velloso one of our hosts for jumping in and grabbing 4th with the Loaner Cars. Also to Tom, Tim H, Kevin, Al, Bob and Richard for rounding out the Top 10
Fifth: a good learning for us all. While inadvertent – Eddie ran ED Wheels on his NSR F1 and was disqualified. More importantly it illustrated the impact of the different rules. He beat the field by 9 laps (160 to 151) and it shows what a big impact a seemingly small item has. It is why I am so reluctant to allow any hop-up parts in classes and strive to maintain same tires without treatments for all classes. It also explains why Marco had so strongly suggested we do not allow gluing of tires in this specific class because of the difference the 15mm (ED) versus OEM 13 mm (Farrout) wheels make (not gluing means you can lift edge and peek at the wheel type). Eddies tires might also have been treated (if they were his ED car tires/wheels) as ED allows oil treatment.
Sixth: apologies for not being able to fit Lee into the first race. ED software runs a bit differently to Farrout’s and once we start it really is not easy to add another racer.
Seventh: below are the individual Race Results, the updated Class tables and the updated Overall table. Note there does not seem to be an obvious correlation between being in early heats and overall results.
