What You Need To Know – You need to remove the magnet.
There are 16 body styles and 100+ liveries from which to choose
- Motor:
- OEM Racer/Sideways sidewinder (Yellow Slot.it Flat-6 motor: 20,500 RPM; 200g/cm torque part number MN09CH double sided shaft, open or closed and MN09C closed)
- Note: all cars including all limited editions come with the Slot.it Flat 6, although it is not labeled as such on all cars, from the factory
- Rear Tires: OEM Racer/Sideways
- Slot.It part number PT1152C1 – no other compound other than the C1 compound is permitted.
- Note: the part number 1152 and Slot.it are imprinted on the inside of the tire wall. From 2015, replacement tires will have those and the compound number on the inside of the tire wall
- Front Tires: OEM Racer/Sideways
- Slot.It part number PT1159C1 – no other compound other than the C1 compound is permitted
- Note: the part number 1159 and Slot.it are imprinted on the inside of the tire wall. From 2015, replacement tires will have those and the compound number on the inside of the tire wall
- Wheels: OEM Racer/Sideways.
- Front wheels are plastic (Slot.It part number PA17-Pl 15.8×8.2mm)
- Rear wheels are aluminium (Slot.It part number PA18-Als 17.3×8.2mm )
- Guide: OEM Racer/Sideways standard Slot.it guide (Slot.It part number CH66). All other guides are illegal.
- Gears/Axles: OEM Racer/Sideways
- Gears: Pinion gear brass 11 tooth Slot.It part number PI6711o; Crown (spur) gear aluminium + yellow plastic 28 tooth Slot.It part number GA1628-PI
- Rear Axle: Sideways cars come with offset rear axle blocks (spacers) to allow you to move the rear axle up and down within the body
- You are free to use the setup as shipped from the factory (0.0 mm offset), or the 0.5mm or 1.0mm offset rear axle blocks as you see fit
- Note: maximum rear tracking width is 64mm (measured from outside of the tire walls). Regardless of this rule, when viewed from above the tires must not be able to be seen outside the bodywork even if that means it is less than 64mm
- Make sure your car doesn’t drag on the track if you use one of the offset axle blocks
- Front Axle: Sideways cars come fitted with a screw-based adjustable ride height system for the front axle.
- You are free to adjust these as you see fit
- Your car must still adhere to the club standard rule of the front tires rolling when the car is on a flat setup block and gently pushed by your finger from the rear of the car (i.e. when no extra weight is applied to the front of the car)
- Wires/Braids: OEM Racer/Sideways or replace with any brand that works well
- Bushings: OEM Racer/Sideways or replace with any bushing that works well. Comes fitted with Slot.it bushings (part number PA02). No ball-race bearings of any sort nor offset bushings or Slot.it spherical bushings are allowed in any class, unless uninstalled as OEM part.
- Ballast Weight: Not allowed
- Magnet: must be removed and placed on nearest fridge
- Lights: you are free to add lights (you might get an extra half lap per heat if you add them! Or not.)
Eligible Cars – Sideways have currently released ~16 body styles and over 100 liveries from which to choose. Note that the years noted in the class description are a broad guide – we are trying to race period Group 5 Le Mans/ DRM/ IMSA GTX/ JSPC cars. Any questions ask Stephen, who is the only arbiter on eligibility.

- The cars must specifically be approved in advance by Stephen (no exceptions and no other person can allow or disallow a hybrid car once it is approved)
- The chassis must sit flush with the body of the car, as it is with all other class eligible cars
- The body must at minimum weigh the same as the average of the OEM class eligible cars. For this class that weight is 21 grams and any makeup weight must be added to the bottom of the driver pan, not the chassis
